The "official" tool for WO development is Eclipse with the quite excellent WOLips plugin. Most J2EE/J2SE people on the Mac also use Eclipse or others Java IDE (NetBeans, etc.). I don't think a lot of people use Xcode for Web Java development :-)

So what exactly is the state of web application development on OS X? I'm a J2SE developer coming from the standard tomcat world, using JDeveloper IDE. Thought I would switch to native stuff on the Mac, but looks like Xcode doesn't directly provide support for standard web app configs, spring, etc...

What are most people doing?

Thanks

I have Leopard 10.5.2 with Xcode 3.1(Beta), iPhone SDK just installed.

I can't find a WebObjects template to create a webobjects java web application. What am I missing?

Eclipse/WOLips (<http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOL/ Migrating+from+XCode+to+WOLips>)

Of course if this is your first introduction to WebObjects then this page has various tutorials and docs:
