We evaluated using leopard server, and yes, it "does" it all, but it's
just, well, not quite there yet (IMHO). It's a bit like the Porsche
Cayenne - quite radicle when it first came out, but so butt-ugly
everyone still buys an X5. I think it needs a couple of revisions to
get it right :-)

OK, ok, so all that sounds like consultant-speak.
Bottom line is, I came into this 4 hours ago, and was told to whip
up a technology demo by next wednesday so that I can give a
recommendation for what technology to use, based on their response
to the demonstration.
It has to support clients (the institution is almost entirely mac
based, and uses intel based Tiger servers).
Doesn't Mac OS X Server offer all of this out-of-the-box?
