I have generated SQL for a database in version 5.4.2 and it appears to be working correctly. Are there any outstanding EOGeneration issues with Webobjects 5.4? Just want to know if I am going to run into anything when i generate my class

Assuming you're using Velocity EOGenerator, it's completely separate from WO, so there are no dependencies between the two.
