That is unfortunate, WebObjects would be able to reach more
developers if we (or Apple) were able to make a runtime installation
tool for windows.
Just get the user to download the necessary file(s) from apple, and
write a separate bundle that will extract the files and copy
everything to the necessary places. That's almost as good as an
installer and avoids redistribution related legal issues. This is what
I do with the FreeBSD port of webobjects.

My understanding has always been that you can redistribute it as

anything is far from clear.
My opinion is that redistributing WO is likely to put you in
contact with Apple's lawyers.

I have a windows WebObjects installation that functions and it is
WebObjects 5.4.1. I do not know if I can zip my c:\apple
directory and place it on a web server for distribution. I would
expect that I cannot, that doing so would be a violation of the
Apple Web Objects license. Do we have any Apple people on the
list that can confirm this?
