Direct connect or through Apache?

I connect to my WO application using Safari. My WO application is connected to a remote database. So my app runs slow.
As a result of this Safari is giving me a timeout error saying that the server is not responding.

I had set a preference in Terminal using defaults write com.apple.safari to turn off this timeout. But recently, I started getting this timeout again. I don't know if it was caused by updating my OS X to 10.5.3.

Does anybody know how to turn off the timeout error in Safari? I want Safari to wait as long as it takes to get the response. :-)

Thanks,
Ricardo
