Jazzy is a dead project, but it does work.  It takes just a simple word list (a file with one word per line) as it's dictionary.  You have to handle contractions and possessive words manually.

Given the limitation of 1000 requests/ day and 10 words to be sent at a time, I am a bit scary to use Google spell check API. Do we have any other better alternative.
http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=java+spell+check&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 turns up quite a few alternatives including Jazzy, an LGPL spell checker API as well as a DeveloperWorks article on it http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-jazzy/.
