As far as I know, the only thing they bought was the domain itself (and it probably wasn't cheap!). Everything else is made in house (SproutsCore is open source, but Apple worked a lot on it, I think). After all, it's "just" an evolution of .mac.


Haven't read your line about Apple Store. Looks like they are doing some rewrites and, judging by the speed, some static/caching work. But as soon as you start ordering an iPod or so, the good old WO URLs come back. :)
