Me too; that's why I am that surprised seeing the duplicated PK

I remember having heard of something like that happening when
FrontBase
crashed or got bad data somehow. Which version of FB are you using?
We had a database here that was working fine, but you couldn't
export/import
it to a different box because it had a couple rows with duplicate
primary
keys. The interesting part was, that there was a unique index on the
column
... must have either come from crash or a bad import or so.
That is the only thing that comes to mind for me.
Well... if I try just to remove the plugin (I've just tried to be
sure), I get _obtainOpenChannel error, so the client could hardly do
that and keep the application running.
Okay, wasn't really sure about that one.
Or is that somehow possible to run the app without the plugin
"successfully" (in the sense it would seem to work all right, but
would generate wrong PK's)? If so, how?
I have never tried using FrontBase with the generic JDBCPlugin.
Maybe some
of the others who actually use FrontBase a bit more than I do can
chime in
here ...
I don't think that would work. You would be missing a lot of things.
or someone is inserting data manually or at least not through
WebObjects.
Far as I can say, they do not... well, of course I cannot be entirely
sure, but it seems extremely improbable the client, who hardly is
able to use FBManager to read in the database contents, would insert
lines manually :(
Anyway, thanks a big lot for the advices!
You can insert rows with FrontBaseManager. I don't say it has to be
that
situation, but it seems to be the most likely, as FrontBase is
normally
rather stable.
It seems odd that a manually inserted row would have a PK like that.
