I have got the app running on my server.
Here's how: -
The app executed fine from my Server command line
I checked version plist in "YourApp.woa/Contents/Library/Frameworks/JavaWebObjects.framework/Resources" which showed 5.3.3 so I did build the app correctly.
So there was nothing wrong with the app.
Then checked the folder permissions on my Server (Mac OS X Server 10.4.11) for /Library/WebObjects/Applications and it turns out it belonged to my own admin login. Changed owner to 'appserver' and app launched in JavaMonitor just fine.
Many thanks for your help.
I'm new, but persistant :-)

Are you embedding the WO frameworks into your app? Check in :
YourApp.woa/Contents/Library/Frameworks
If you have the WO frameworks in that folder.
I'm struggling to get a 5.3.3 app out of my 5.4.3 machine. I have followed the instructions
http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOL/Using+WOLips+With+Multiple+Versions+of+WebObjects and receive no errors when building/running and running Ant tasks.
However, when I try to deploy on my OS X Server (10.4.11). App just die's a death before loading.
Is there a quick way to tell what version of WebObjects an app is based on? I would like to be able to verify that I have followed the instructions correctly?
Thanks,
Mark
