Was it? I didn't get that from his question. Maybe I am wrong, it has happened before, but this whole exercise smelled of premature optimization. That's why I asked if he was actually running into a performance problem, or if he was just anticipating one.
This seems like one of those things that someone that is new to EOF will feel they can do more efficiently, but they have no real need to make it faster than what it is - especially when going in and doing it with raw SQL could seriously confuse EOF.
Most of Jeff's questions on the list so far have been "How do I get EOF to give me SQL like ..." so I'm worried that he's trying to solve problems that don't actually exist.
