Well, he's looking for all clients that have open jobs. In that case,
you would create a fetch specification for Client where jobs.status =
'open'. Then make sure to do call setUsesDistinct with true on the
fetch specification.
A view is basically just a canned query - you can get the same
results, and similar speed, by doing the proper join inside WebObjects
via qualifiers.

If you are thinking about the database, you are using WebObjects
incorrectly. Just fetch jobs where client = client and status =
'open'
