Well I'm using VI[1] + we're on Java 6 on deployment as of a few weeks (we deploy to FreeBSD). Maven too of course :-)

[1] not recommended unless you know what you're doing and are prepared to fix bugs in EOF itself. There was a regression in 5.4 as well as a fix. So for me 5.4 was +0. It only took me one line of code to fix mind you.
