Hi all,
I am developing an application where I want to give to the end user
the ability to alter EOModel and database, that is to add fields in
a table, or to add a new table and to be able to insert and/or edit
data on this table.
I am sure that there is a way to do it but as with the whole
WebObjects documentation is a miracle to find out how (at least for
a new comer like me).
Can anyone suggest to me some APIs or readings about this?
Many thanks in advance
Along with the other good advice you have been given, I will mention
our Virtual Tables framework. It allows you to create new EO-like
entities and objects on the fly. These can't have any code, but have
full KVC access like normal EOs. They work fine for small to moderate
data sets. For larger ones, you will probably find the performance
inadequate.
You can get a recent copy from http://www.gvcsitemaker.com/chill/files/gvcframeworks_source.tar.gz
