Java has a fine API for dealing with LDAP called JNDI (javax.naming).
I've been using it to authenticate against/retrieve information from
an Active Directory server for a couple of years and it works fine.
I attempted to use the EOF JNDI adaptor before I went the java way,
but it felt clumsy and inappropriate - EOF really isn't at home there.

Hello, List.
I have been searching on google about LDAP integration with
WebObjects, I found that the WO 5.2 Specification sheet says that
it supports OpenLDAP 2.0.25.
Well n fact, have no clue what LDAP is or what it does, the point is
that I got a job offer and the guys are working on some system using
LDAP, they want to implement some java "thing" and be able to sync
with LDAP to update info on the "software" they want to build, as
far as I understood, is kinda some kind of outlook they want to
build, but for mac. So they want in a late developer phase do a
Native program built on Cocoa, to do such a thing. At some point I
heard JNDI, and started thinking about WO.
I really didn't get it good what they are doing and what for.
While they were explaining me I was thinking about WO and EOF.
So I came home and look about LDAP with WO, found few things.
I just want to ask if its possible to integrate the protocol with
WO?, has somebody worked with that?, what are they experiences etc,
Im gonna kinda propose to integrate it but i need to be sure about
compatibility and so on, and if somebody has a webpage where it
describes the pros and cons or something to show this people that
it's possible and might be a good idea. if no, then I just leave the
whole think behind. :S.
Thanks
Gus
