Database Outage Detection

  • Subject: Database Outage Detection

Hello;

I have a project where the database goes down every so often. Obviously the right thing to do would be to stop that happening at all, but this is not under my control so I would like my WOA to be able to react to this in some constructive manner. The JDBContext throws an EOGeneralAdaptorException (runtime) when a database connectivity problem occurs, but there is no information about what model was involved or what sort of error occurred. I can get access to the SQLException involved, but I don't think this is going to help me. Anybody doing anything interesting in their systems to detect this?

cheers.
