Hello Greg;
There isn't much I could find about programatically shutting down
the webobjects system, so I assume something like a
SIGTERM signal
would, if sent to all three, terminate all webobjects programs on
unix.
Is there a nicer way? I assume a reboot does pretty much the same
thing.
I send a message around a queue server's topic to the instance or
instances which triggers off a shutdown procedure. Each instance then
goes through phases of shutting down its infrastructure and warning
users they will need to finish-up what they doing blah blah blah.
Finally it tells the users they need to logout right now and then
actually stops the instance. It all works quite well.
cheers.
