Gustavo,

How did you define the the new configuration? In EOModel? If so, there is a button in the connection Properties tab for "Make Config Active". You will likely have to scroll down to it. It is below the rest of the fields.

If you are using Project WOnder, then there is a way to set it in the properties file, but let's start with just changing it in the EOModel.
