If I were Bill Clinton I would say, "it depends on what your definition of the word 'opensource' is."

If your definition is:

1. free to download
2. free to develop with
3. free to deploy

then I'd call WebObjects pretty open. :-) Have you read the license?

Hi list,

i'm still waiting for an opensource version of WebObjects.

I can"t believe the news today, there 's so many good news, ( Sun totally disappears, eated by Oracle ),
could we hope good news for WebObjects ?

What's new about WebObjects today ? WebObjects.org ? Gianduia ?

My actual client is just looking for a robust, scalable ... persistence, web solution but ... they only use opensource solution

PS : the last joke of Sun was named JavaFX :-)
