Thanks Ravi, I will check it out. It's only been 2 years and 3 months since I asked the original question. :)

Over the last couple of years I have actually written a few proof of concept approaches for writing wo apps in other languages: ruby, groovy, javascript, etc. They worked with various amounts of success, and it is all very cool, but I always keep coming back to java because of the tool support and IDE integration with WOLips and Java. Particularly for things that aren't code, like component validation, content assist, etc.

Do you feel this is something you would use to write real world apps with, or is it just something you have tried as a bit of fun?

For those interested in programming WebObjects in Scala, you might like:

Thanks to Dominique Schonenberger for gifting me "Programming in Scala" (by Martin Odersky) for my holidays :)

FYI: Martin Odersky, is both the author of the language and the book.
I highly recommend it! It's easy to see why Scala's become popular at Twitter, linkedin, etc.

Thanks,
Ravi
