That was just concerning me. I didn't expose those values as bindings in AjaxFlexibleFileUpload and they definitely cannot be the same value.
Unfortunately I'm up to my ears in deadlines right at this minute, but I'll try and mockup your problem when I get a chance. Though, I'm wondering if this kind of fail is just a special case of 'cancel', and if that is the case then we might need to modify the handler to try and brute force kill the upload client-side. You can take a look at the CancelLink and cancelFunction() in AjaxFlexibleFileUpload to see what I mean.
