Just to let you know the links "more information on EOEditingContext" are broken here:
http://webobjects.mdimension.com/javadoc/WebObjects/5.4/com/webobjects/eocontrol/EOEditingContext.html

Same issue with the legacy apple documentation.

But it's not broken in the WO 5.3 javadoc:
