I have a very large modal dialog though that actually acts a view portal to a WOComponent that holds collection of information - all child components. So, it is less "dialog" than "full sheet" with actions available on it. In one of the child components I was considering having a modal dialog show an expanded set of data. Not THE best solution - I understand. But I was curious what others might do. I'm not inclined to update the entire "portal" sheet with the other data. Maybe the parent modal thing should actually be a modal container.
I've done it this way because I want the user to feel as though they haven't navigated to a different place to view the content on the "sheet." This is actually kind of important in this case.
