Developing with WebObjects for more than 10 years, I wanted but feared to upgrade WebObjects from 5.3 to 5.4.3 and FrontBaseSQL from 32 to 64 bits, when it works, why change ?

Following the advice of Pascal Robert about WOLips 3.7, I decided to upgrade... all

After a (long) week of work :
- our apps work well
- ajax is better than ever (we don't use wonder except ajax and plugins framework)
- frontbase is faster than ever

For those who want to upgrade :
- follow the wiki for the installation : http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WO/Deploying+on+Mac+OS+X+Server
- just think that wonder's FrontBase PlugIn works, that's not true for the one shippedwith webobjects 5.4.3
- you don't need to patch WOImage and others anymore, they are xhtml compliants
- take care if you use WORadioButtonList, it now adds <div>

For those who use Chuck's "Practical WebObjects" :
- comment the voodoo in the class "EOModelNotificationProxy" : http://lists.apple.com/archives/webobjects-dev/2009/Dec/msg00031.html

Ciao,

Jérémy

P.S. : +1 for those who contributed in one way or another to all the tools mentioned
