[OT] Access files on a network share

Hi Guys,

So I have a samba file share that I need to access to store files that are being uploaded via my WO app.

I can easily mount the samba file share in terminal on Linux or OS X using built in samba clients.

However I reckoned it might be more robust to use a java client to directly access the smb file share service.

I found this lib: http://jcifs.samba.org/

But the exact same samba url and auth that works fine on command line fails to logon when using this java client. It seems to suck as much as Windows itself.

Anyway, how are you all handling situations like this where you need to access files on a remote (samba) share in your java apps, where you have user/pass specifically for your app?

If NFS is a better option, there is a possibility that I can get the sys admin to share over NFS too ......

Any experiences that you can share?
