This is just a guess, but I think you might be approaching this inappropriately. I wonder if you need to edit Courses from the Student relationship? Or the Professor relationship?
You probably need to have one interface for Courses where you edit/create them separately from Students or Professors (or whatever). Then you can pick courses from Student/Prof and/or pick students/profs from Course but not try to nest too many levels in the edit/create pages.
