Installation feedback

Hi all,

Some of the list members followed my recent issues with my installation and were kind enough to help me and give me advice. I thank you all for your help and want to give you some feedback.

I bought a new HD and installed Mountain Lion bought from App Store. My installation is:
  1. App Store Mountain Lion 10.8.1
  2. Stock Mountain Lion apache2
  3. MySQL 5.5.24 from MySQL installer and MySQL jdbc adaptor
  4. Java 1.6.0_35 (Apple installation)
  5. Stock Apple WebObjects 5.4.3 installation with default directories (no "version" subdirectories as in the wiki)
  6. Eclipse 3.7.2
  7. Wonder wotaskd and JavaMonitor
  8. eclipse and applications configured to use UTF-8 with full use of UTF-8 characters so far with no problems
  9. XCode 4.4.1
I decided to dedicate this HD to development tasks.

Since several of you considered that I might have problems with my hardware, I checked for disk and volume problems in my other disk and found that everything is OK. As I had already said, my motherboard and memory modules are only four months old since I had to replace them after a lightning. So I definitely discard hardware issues.

It seems that my other system, Lion 10.7.4, is really messy to be a reliable Java development platform. I do now want to deal with it for now, when I feel comfortable I will do a clean Mountain Lion install on it.

Regards,

Angelo
