well, setting up a new developer system according to docs I used a few years back -- but now, I can't make it though the installations, I guess things have changed.
I keep thinking it would be great to use Jenkins or something, but I'm even less familiar with that.
Maybe it's easier for me to go that route at this point?

If you're building with Jenkins, I can confirm that the "S3 Plugin" (which performs upload of artefacts to S3 as a post-build step) works as advertised. If you're doing it manually (or scripting it), "s3cmd.rb put" will do the job.
