do I understand that the user.d2wmodel opens correctly?
I would,
1. save it to my desktop
2. turn off "Build Automatically"
3. throw away the user.d2wmodel.txt and user.d2wmodel files
4. Clean the project and even Refresh
5. open the user.d2wmodel file in ruleModeler and save it in the correct place
6. turn on "Build Automatically"
run your app and see if that helps.
YMMV
