Wow. I never thought I would hear someone from Quebec say "go to
Toronto". Isn't that a curse in Montreal? Ah tabernac! Go to Toronto!

Last time I was in Toronto was in... 1995. But it looking a hell lot less boring that it was 20 years ago (and will be always be better than Ottawa, unless museums is your thing).

That said, Montreal, Quebec City, and New York was going to be my
suggestion. Unless you want more wilderness in which case there are a
lot of provincial and national parks around.

I agree, but in April, not the best place to go :-) If you want that, would be better to go to the Rockies. BUT you can rent a tent at the national parks here, and they have heaters in them. See www.sepaq.com

I consider to come. Because of the beginning easter holidays my
question is: what can I do with my family the week after the
conference? What are the must seen? We have never been in north
america. So what is the best way to organize activities?

I must admit it's not the best time of the year to visit Montreal (or
Toronto or Quebec City), since most of the snow is gone but the
weather is not "hot" (it's the best time for a conference because we
can get better prices). But you can still do a lot, like visit the
Olympic Park. museums, going to Quebec City, Toronto or New-York (a
lot of people goes to New-York on Easter week-end). I would say: stay
a couple of days in Montreal, go visit Quebec City for two days, and
go to Toronto or New-York city for 3-4 days.

Now, Chuck, stop that. You knew I was going to

Hi guys,

The ticket for WOWODC 2014 will be
$580. As usual, we will have
special price for groups. Tickets will
be on sale before December.
Ticket will include a dinner on Sunday
April 13th, at this sugar shack:

http://www.sucreriedelamontagne.com/

Daniel, the event manager, knows the
owners, so we will probably have
some extras.

And I'm thinking of doing a "A day with
a sysadmin" session+labs. It
would be practical stuff, like how to
deploy from Git (with hooks),
from Jenkins, how to use and write
Nagios plugins, how to use Selenium
WebDriver, cluster with Linux,
heartbeat, DRDB and HAProxy, managing
your logs with logstash. That would
concurrent to the other
presentations. Anyone have any interest
in this?
