Well, one thing: if it is always the
same time of year, there may always be a similar set of
people who can’t go. Changing the dates can help shake up
the list of participants a bit.
Speaking for myself, I know that I can pretty much never go
in late June, early July. Whether I can go in April will
depend on my employer but it does open up the possibility
for me.
