Thanks for the quick replies and thank you for the awesome offer Ray, but I actually took Pascal's advice and did a clean install and changed the host name. That fixed the problem and it runs now.
note: I run it in the java monitor. Incase some others that don't know, you can't just test a wo application by running it from the command line. I was previously running in the Java monitor and it wasn't working, so for the purpose of the question I presented, I ran from the command line.
Do you guys have bitcoin addresses? I'd like to buy you two beers!
