I tried Eclipse 4.4M8 (Luna) with WOLips43 but it did not work.
I guess I'll try the Eclipse 4.3.2 route with the patch for Java 8. Thanks for the link.
There are some videos on this page after you scroll downward that cover the Java 8 features, like Lambdas, new Date/Time API similar to joda and annotations:
