Errkk! Sound interesting but not sure I got it all. Can you elaborate or just state it in a simpler way?
As far as the online newspaper article is concerned, I must say I was, just like you, quite disturbed by all the ads around it, which look (and sound!) pretty inappropriate for that kind of news. But the paper (of much better quality) from which I got the news was written in French and, therefore, of little interest here.

Hi there,
I’m as you can face situation, not real happy about news indeed. I just read news url published along "not great level” cheap marketing picts by a possible Western South Californian Newspaper about an international French resident who is married with a Spanich woman, that has had a car deathly accident. I sad for closer people of him.
In this tragic situation I’m writing you that people like me has a traversal approach on Apple tech., either hardware and software in order to obtain a gain globally. Of course, webobjects tech. couldn’t be excluded into Apple’s pack offer to macro-solve a solution besides Apple reality and a Dev studying/discovery/building posture.
Thanks for reading.

From the original article:

"On Sunday, the longtime Apple software engineer was returning home from kitesurfing at Waddell Beach in Davenport when a suspected drunken driver crossed the double-yellow line on La Honda Road and hit him head-on. Jouaux, 46, of Woodside, died at the scene."

A fine man, killed by someone who drank too much and  got into a car.  My plea to NOT drive after drinking was to everyone else, not directed at François.

Chuck, why do you say that? François didn't drink.

He just did kitesurfing with a friend…

That is very sad news indeed.

If you drink, don’t drive.  Please.

According to a French site he had been involved in WebObjects first developments and in the transition to the java version.

.. a nice (old) article about early days, with a little more context for Francois Jouaux:
