Turns out that in the breaking version, I'd upgraded a library (pushy, a library for sending iOS push notifications). Somehow the addition of this library caused classloading to break for some classes and I have absolutely no idea why.
So… I just stuck in an ERXPatcher.setClassForName() for the class it wasn’t finding since everything else seems to be working (knocks on wood crosses fingers etc.)
