We originally wanted then hosted by a “neutral” company so that if one of us went out of business that the resources would not be lost. This has happened before (anyone remember WOCode?). When facing the loss of your business, the community assets are probably not at the front of people’s minds. We also wanted it neutral so that it could be an advocate for WO. Given that the community is shrinking and I don’t see any large entity stepping up to sponsor WO, moving these assets to one of the companies volunteering seems appropriate. Perhaps two could arrange to co-operate to maintain a replica “just in case”.
