I’m not an event organizer.
But I often organize evenings and meetings for associations of business manager.
The question (for me) is to know if :
- we organize a (maketing) event
- we organize an meeting for people-who-already-know-each-other-via-mailing-list
For the first case, I’m not the man
For the second one, I’m can help to organize a meeting in Paris if you want… also because the risks for a meeting are then limited (we do not need to book an entire hotel and hall)
Theses questions are link to #ouridentity but the slack channel remains empty.
Maybe we could launch a survey to find speakers and understand the expectations and average number of interested people ?

- If not using an event organizer, you need to select a hotel, a meeting plan (room + food) and sign the contract. And a deposit (most of the event have to be paid before the actual date)
- Try to find speakers (which is the hardest thing now) and followup with them
- Followup on registration, like create invoices, answering travel questions, etc.
- Try to find sponsors
- Taking care of hiring a A/V shop for the screens, audio and projectors
- Try to do some marketing on Twitter, in the mailing list, on Facebook, etc.

I'm not sure Pascal want to engage in this project and I have a divorce to complete... You now know why the WO Community project stalled last fall.
I know the Montréal event manager can help someone to organize it in Europe.
