Hm, this podcast doesn't show a solution for my problem. I have setup a Derby database, which is empty. Now I think, I have to create a new Database Config on the Movies EOModel within the Entity Modeler? But I don't know, which properties I have to set.

As prototype I have used EOJDBCDerbyPrototypes, Adaptor JDBC. The URL I have set (should I delete the parameter create=true? - but I need the create table script...). Username and password are also okay, as driver I have used org.apache.derby.jdb.ClientDriver, but the plugin name? There is a framework called DerbyPlugin, but should I set a specific class name from the framework?

Are there any properties I can set in the Properties file? There is a webobjectsexamples.ERMoviesLogic.useEmbeddedH2Database=true within the properties file of ERMovies, which I set to false. But is it better to declare the credentials within that property file instead direct within the model? How are the names of the database source properties there?

Thanks a lot
Andre

did you watch David Holt’s ERAttachmet tutorial in the podcasts?

storageType the type of attachment to create, i.e. "s3", "db", or
"file" -- defaults to "db" (or the value of er.attachment.storageType)

Hi,

The ERMovies example uses per default an H2 database. Which steps are necessary to switch to another database like Derby or MySQL? There are already SQL scripts within the ERMoviesLogic framework, but I don't understand where I have to set the credentials vor the new database.

Thank you
Andre
