xemacs on X11 Beta 3 (update)

Readers of these lists may recall that xemacs stopped working for me when I installed Beta 3 of Apple's X11. As a desperate measure, I erased /sw and re-installed a fresh copy of fink, from which I then installed xemacs. However, the problem persists: if I launch xemacs and try even to open a file, it displays a message at the terminal (see below) and hangs.

Does anybody have a suggestion? Is it possible that the X11 binaries have somehow got corrupted?
