I'd like to adjust the key repeat rate for X11 (using Apple's beta 3
release) since I find the defaults a bit too slow. I try to do so like
this:
% xset r rate 0 50
Xlib: extension "XFree86-Misc" missing on display ":0.0".
zsh: bus error xset r rate 0 50
Looks like I need XFree86-Misc. Any suggestions on how to get/install
this (or verify whether it is installed and Xlib can't see it)?
You can't. You need Apple to add support for this extension to their
X server, which it currently does not have. FWIW, XDarwin does not
currently support this extension either.
