I'll ask again, what is your shell's stack size?
I took your advice last time. For the past few weeks, I have had this
line in my .bashrc:
ulimit -s 8192 #increase the stack size
However, it didn't make any difference in this case.
The problem has been somewhat fixed in 21.5.12 (current beta) by
changing
the stack intensive regex sections to use malloc. The fact that
OroborOSX
is now failing also makes it look like the stack error.
To me it indicates that the problem is in XEmacs rather than in
anybody's version of X11, especially as Gnu Emacs works fine.
(Unfortunately, it doesn't have the package I need.)
Do the errors occur in font-locked buffers more often than in others?
They start the moment I click on the "Open file" icon in the toolbar.
If I open a font-locked file, I get a deluge of such messages.
(Unfortunately, I have deinstalled the beta version, so I can't rerun
the examples easily.)
Bush declares that countries with which America has 'unfinished
business'
constitute a 'spindle of atrocity'. These include Libya, Vietnam,
Japan,
Colin Powell, Germany and the northern anti-slavery states of the US.

Good newspaper, that one!
