Hello to all,
First of all, I want to give big thanks for X11 for OSX, a great step
forward in my humble opinion.
Having said that, I am experiencing a problem after upgrading to 0.2.
Until a few hours ago, I had 0.1, XDarwin, and OroborosX all running
fine on my PowerMac with 10.2.3. I was even running X11 and OroborosX
at the same time, by playing with DISPLAYs.
I then installed 0.2 and the SDK package, and the problems started. By
the way, I do not have a problematic .xinitrc in my home directory.
When clicking on the X11 icon in the dock it starts but, instead of an
xterm, I get a white rectangle (no prompt or window frame). Clearly,
the lack of frame indicates that quartz-wm has not started, but what
about the no-prompt thingy?
I then call up the OSX Terminal, and try to open quartz-wm manually. I
get an error message that "cannot open display".
If I then do a "setenv DISPLAY localhost:0" in Terminal, and now I can
start quartz-wm manually. From here, everything works fine.
I have no idea where the problem came from, since everything was
working fine to start with...
Any help will be tremendously appreciated.
Marcelo
