You are right, I had not seen that behavior with Terminal.app but it
does happen.
The difference is with Terminal.app, I can focus on any Terminal.app
window
on any desktop and type in it. With X11.app/xterm, I cannot.
If I have two windows in the same spot on the screen but on different
desktops, I cannot
select the one that is 'virtually' under the top window. This doesn't
happen with other
OSX native apps. I don't know what makes X11.app different from other
OSX
native windows in this respect.
Just to be clear as to what I'm doing, I open an xterm on Desktop 1, I
move to Desktop 2 and open
another xterm in the same position on the screen. Go back to Desktop 1
and you cannot focus
that xterm.
