not without recompiling the X server (when the source code for 0.2 gets posted on the darwin web site a single line needs to be removed from one file, if you feel comfortable recompiling the server I can tell you what to change)


if you disable the "Follow input menu" option then the system keymap will still be loaded when the X server initializes itself, but not when the system input settings subsequently change
