Making x11 available to more than one user logged into console

Hi:

For some reason on 3 machines I can't get X11 to work under any user account other than that which I used to install it, unless I manually delete from the /tmp directory the following file and subdirectory:

 .X0-lock
.X11-unix/

The user ownership is assigned to me and group ownership to wheel.

I've talked to others that report that these files are created and destroyed as X11 is turned on and off, but I am unable to figure out how to do this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Bill Scott
