I just set up a Dvorak .xmodmap file and run it when I start up the X
server. It's not the most graceful thing, I admit, but it gets the job
done. Do a Google search for "Dvorak" and "xmodmap" and you should
find a couple of different files.

Hello,
I've been having a hard time using the X11 package from Apple. When i
run any X application my keyboard input seems to be Qwerty, even
though I have my keyboard layout set to Dvorak. setxkbmap seems to
bus error whenever I run it.
Any advice on how to approach this one?
bash-2.05a$ export DISPLAY=:0.0
bash-2.05a$ /usr/X11R6/bin/setxkbmap
Couldn't interpret _XKB_RULES_NAMES property
Use defaults: rules - 'xfree86' model - 'pc101' layout - 'us'
Bus error
bash-2.05a$
