The standard way, for any version of X11, is to put such commands into
your ~/.xinitrc file. Usually a good source for sample files like this is
<http://dotfiles.com/>, but I'm poking around & don't see any samples that
would be useful (lots of other places though -- shells, editors, etc).
Basically though, if you have no ~/.xinitrc, then Apple's x11 starts with
some reasonable defaults. If you have the file, even if there is nothing
in it, the defaults are ignored & you get/have to set everything yourself,
including the window manager.
Search Google for 'xinitrc' and you can find some good samples. Picking
one at random, try extending this one:
http://www.cs.utk.edu/~help/unix/dotfiles/xinitrc.php
by adding whatever commands you would like to launch when starting X11.
