Yes I know but what is my home directory and how do I find this
.xinitrc and the other .files? If I would know this then I could edit
.xinitrc as well as .tcshrc in order to set the path to /usr/local/bin.
When I use find it doesn't show me these files so how do I make them
visible?
Start up Terminal; it should place you in your home directory, i.e.
/Users/yourname. If in doubt, use the "pwd" command to check what
directory you are in; you can move to your home directory by typing "cd
/Users/yourname".
Use "ls -a" to get a list of all the files including those that start
with . (a dot), which are invisible in the Finder.
If you didn't have some X version installed before installing X11 there
won't be a .xinitrc, so you'll need to create one. You can use the
command line editor pico: type "pico .xinitrc"; edit, save by means of
^O, exit by means of ^X. Mutatis mutandis for .tcshrc and other .files.
