uhm, I don't think that you're right here duane.
b/c the system-whatever package tells fink that it's not a fink
package, so it wouldn't expect it in /sw anyway - or am I wrong here?
I think the problem is that his version is simply too old.

When i try to install "system-xfree86" package from finkcommander, it

It may have nothing to do with the error message, but did you notice
that fink stores files in a special place: /sw? If you let X11 for
Mac OS X install in its default location, it won't go into /sw, and
perhaps that is why fink doesn't know about it.
