I beg to differ. I have my own set of dot files that I take along
to every system (my oldest file, .plan, is from 1994). tcsh has
worked just fine for 8+ years. Bash is currently in the transition
from brokenness to semi-brokenness.
When I installed 10.1, I took one look at all the Sanchez cruft Apple
had provided and disgustedly threw it all away. Just roll your own
and you'll be fine.
