Hello,

Contrary to what some others may have seen, I see substantially faster
performance with X11.app compared to the latest XDarwin binary release
(XFree86Complete-4.2-10.2.sit and XFree86_4.2.0.1-10.2.zip downloads).


Normal.

X11.app has hardware acceleration.

XFree86 4.2.0.1 hasn't (the version you download from xdarwin.org).

But the version you compile from CVS, or download from the fink 'unstable' tree is Xfree 4.2.99 (or 4.3). And this one has hardware acceleration. And therefore should run as fast as X11.app.

Sorry if it's a bit complicated.
